What changed in CMS data
New and updated datasets across data.cms.gov, the Provider Data Catalog and data.medicaid.gov, checked every night. Every row links to the official CMS page.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or tracked.
Loading the latest check...
This is taking longer than usual, because the data file is large.
Planned update dates, as CMS posts them. Only the Provider Data Catalog publishes these, so this list covers that catalog.
What the nightly check saw change, compared with the night before: datasets added or removed, new versions, date changes and new planned dates.

How it works
Where the dates come from
Every night a small script reads the public catalogs CMS publishes for machines: data.cms.gov/data.json, the Provider Data Catalog metastore and the data.medicaid.gov metastore. It saves each dataset's dates and compares them with the night before.
- New
- First published in the window, or first seen by the nightly check.
- New release
- A data.cms.gov series posted a new version, such as a new year or quarter.
- Updated
- CMS changed the data or reposted it in the window.
Limitations
- Dates are what CMS states in its catalogs. If a catalog is late or wrong, this page is too.
- The Provider Data Catalog shows two dates: the data's last change and the day it was posted. This page uses whichever is newer.
- data.medicaid.gov counts a metadata edit as a change, so some "updated" rows may have the same data.
- Planned dates only exist for some Provider Data Catalog datasets.
- The nightly log starts on the first check. Older changes come only from CMS's own dates.
- Build and test tables on data.medicaid.gov are hidden on purpose.
Privacy
This page is static. It loads two data files from this site and talks to nothing else, which the site's security policy enforces. Your filters live in the page address so you can share a view. A theme choice and the tips you dismiss are kept in your browser only.
Not official
This is an independent project, not a CMS product. CMS data is a U.S. government work. Always confirm on the official page before you rely on a date.
